Hunting in South Africa is something every hunter should do at least once in his lifetime. Contrary to popular believe it is affordable to come and hunt in South Africa. As Witkop Safaris is ideally situated I invite you to make your African Safari a reality. So the only question that remains is when are you coming?

Witkop Safaris is based in the eastern part of the Free State Province in South Africa. The ranch was established in 1992. Currently there are 19 species on the ranch which  includes cheetah, buffalo's and hippo's. The cheetahs are hand reared and you will be able to interact with them. The meeting with the cheetahs has become the highlight of many.

All plains game like kudu, Zebra. Bluewildebeest, Redhartebeest, Blesbuck, Springbuck as well as the Big 5 van be hunted with Witkop Safaris on the Ranch or on concessions of Witkop Safaris throughout Southern Africa. We offer rifle, bow, handgun and blackpowder hunting as well as  wingshooting in the form of upland bird shooting, (five species of francolin) over Pointers, four water fowl species shot from blinds over decoys and driven guinea fowl are the order of the day. Also seasonally we have excellent quality dove and pigeon shooting. Our wing shooting is not high volume but rather we accent a wide variety of species and shooting types.

We only hunt wild bird bag limits, except for doves and pigeons, as required. Witkop Safaris offers high quality dangerous game and plains game hunting safaris.  All the different plains game South Africa has to offer can be done on our concessions and on the Ranch. Witkop Safaris will take care of all your arrangements including  permits, transfers, accommodation, meals, and sight-seeing etc.  All this will be tailor made to suit your needs.  We specialize in making your African Hunting Safari the most memorable and a unforgettable hunting experience of a lifetime.

Traditional Plains Game Hunting Safaris This hunting is done on a daily rate basis and the animals hunted will be charged additional as per the plains game price list. The total duration of the safari will depend on the different species that the hunter would like to hunt. Together with our clients we plan their hunting safaris to the last detail.For traditional plains game hunting a rifle or bow can be used and the package will be structured according to the needs of the client. The location of the hunt will depend on the species that the hunter would like to take.

Packages for Wing Shooting Wingshooting will be done in the Free State Province of South Africa. This area is known for a big variety of birds and is the ideal habitat for upland birds, doves and pigeons. Upland birds, Guinea fowl and Francolin are flushed out of the long grass by walk-and-stalk method with trained dogs or beaters. Regarding Waterfowl, Ducks and Geese, the hunter will be put directly under the flight path in a hide or natural cover with the help of decoys in dams (lakes) or in grain fields where they feed.

Dangerous Game Hunting of Big Five species is done either in South Africa or the neighboring countries like Zimbabwe, Namibia or Mozambique. These hunts are planned in detail with the client depending on the animals and area for the specific hunt. All the prices and quotes for the dangerous game hunting safaris will be done on request after the specific requirements of the client has been determined.
